FAST FACTS:
SCORE:Saint Michael's 2, AIC 0
RECORDS:AIC falls to 3-14 and 3-9 in the NE10, while Saint Michael's improves to 3-13 with a 3-9 NE10 mark.
LOCATION:Duffy Field, Colchester, Vermont

STATS:
AIC:
Chelsea Davis: One defensive save
Jessica Stone: Loss (3-13), 10 saves

Saint Michael's:
Nell Chriscione: One goal
Morgan Johnston: One goal
Anna Hurley: Win (3-9), five saves

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Purple Knights scored two quick goals midway through the half; Nell Criscione banged in a rebound at 13:13 off of an initial shot by Morgan Johnston to open the scoring, and Johnston finished on a shot from the right side of the arc by Shelagh Fluharty at 16:52.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Stone was strong despite the two goals, making seven saves in the half out of her ten for the game.
  • In the second half, Saint Michael's nearly added a third, but a strong stick along the far post by junior back Chelsea Davis kept the ball out of the cage. However, AIC's offense was unable to get through for a goal as the 2-0 final held up.

NUMBER 15 GETS NUMBER 30:
  • Davis's defensive save made at the 64:41 mark on a shot by Bonnie Gillis was more than merely a good play. Davis became the first player in the history of NCAA Division II to reach 30 defensive saves in a career, breaking the tie at 29 she had with Danielle Jones of Mercy College, who had held the previous record since 2014.
  • Davis also tied another defensive saves record specifically, her own single-season mark of 11 that she set last year, co-held with Katrina Heterbring '11's mark in 2009.

NEXT UP:
  • AIC concludes the 2018 season with senior day on Friday, November 9 at 7 p.m. against LIU Post.
  • Prior to the game, the team will honor its four players who will take the field for the final time as Yellow Jackets: graduate back Megan Stewardson, senior back Nichara Condo, and senior forwards Meghan Brock and Devyn O'Connor.
