HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Tarryn Morris opened the scoring at 13:24; Emily Miller followed with a pair of goals at 18:28 and 24:07 to build a 3-0 lead for the visiting squad.
  • AIC had a response to get back in the game, with graduate back Megan Stewardson flicking a pass into the circle to an open freshman forward Sophie Schulpen, who fired a shot low left past Rachel Vellis for her first collegiate goal at 25:15 to cut the deficit to 3-1.
  • Out of the break, Miller completed her hat trick just 1:11 into the period, and the Pioneers added two more by the 59th minute to build a 6-1 lead; after the sixth goal, AIC replaced freshman goalkeeper Jessica Stone with sophomore Madi Dube.
  • LIU Post would net one more in the final minute for the 7-1 result.

THE FINAL ANALYSIS:
  • There were some marked improvements over the course of the 2018 campaign as compared to the previous season.
  • On an individual level, junior back Chelsea Davis's line of 6-3-15 represents the most goals and points a single player has tallied in three seasons for AIC; Davis tied her own single-season defensive saves mark that she set last year with 11.
  • As a team, AIC won one more game than the season before; this year's squad netted four more goals than last year.
