SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College women's soccer team hosted LIU Post on Saturday, October 6, falling 4-0 in a difficult nonconference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The defense was impressive on both sides during the first half, with both teams combining for just three shots on goal during the first half. With less than two minutes left in the first half, the Pioneers jumped out to a 1-0 lead, with a goal scored by freshman forward Kendra Oldroyd.
• In the second half, LIU Post extended its lead to two in the 60th minute off a goal from freshman Terese Marklund.
• In the span of 10 minutes, the Pioneers added on a couple more goals, pushing their lead to four. The score would remain the same after those goals, resulting in a 4-0 loss for the Yellow Jackets.

BUZZWORTHY:

• Sophomore goalkeeper Alexandra Sanft made her AIC debut in the second half. Sanft recorded two saves and did not allow a goal during her time in net for the Yellow Jackets.

• The Yellow Jackets will travel to New York City on Wednesday, October 10 to take on Pace University.
