HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Just over a minute and a half into the game, senior guard Kassim Kaba knocked down a deep ball to give the Yellow Jackets an early 3-0 lead. The Skyhawks then answered with four straight points that gave them their first lead of the night. AIC then went on an 8-0 run and started to pull away.
- Nine minutes into the game, the Yellow Jackets had a 10-point lead, thanks in part to their outside shooting, as they started 4-for-7. The Yellow Jackets continued to make shots, and also forced the Skyhawks to miss shots, as the Yellow Jackets had a 15-point lead at the half.
- The second half was a much different story for the Skyhawks, though, as they continued to chip away at the Yellow Jacket lead. An 11-2 run from 11:07 to 8:25 brought back life into Stonehill as it made it a seven-point game.
- With just 5:45 left in the game, senior forward Tahlib Swan made it a 12-point game on a layup. Stonehill did not back down, making it a seven-point game with a little over a minute left. Off a Yellow Jacket timeout, the Skyhawks missed a three, but got their own rebound and called a timeout. Out of the timeout, they hit a layup to make it a two-possession game, 68-63. That's as close as they got, though, as AIC went 4-for-4 from the line to close out the win, 72-66.
