COLCHESTER, Vermont -The American International College men's basketball team rounded out its two-game road swing with a contest at St. Michael's College on Saturday, January 6. The Yellow Jackets made push after push in the second half, but fell short, dropping the game 65-53.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Purple Knights knocked down two shots for five points off two AIC turnovers in the first minute of the game to force head coach Andy Burkholder to call a timeout. St. Michael's added two more points before senior captain Tahlib Swan got the Yellow Jackets on the board with a long ball.
- With 8:47 on the clock, the Purple Knights' lead grew to 14, their largest of the half, at 23-9. The Yellow Jackets then went on a 13-0 run over the next six minutes to make it a one-point game. The Purple Knights extended their lead to six before the end of the half as the Yellow Jackets went into the locker room down 32-26.
- Sophomore forward Zekiah Owens started the second half with a layup to make it a four-point game, but the Purple Knights answered with a three to make it a three-possession game. Every time the Yellow Jackets made it a one- or two-possession game, St. Michael's extended its lead.
- The Yellow Jacket continued to fight back, but the Purple Knights kept knocking down shots and took the game, 65-53.
GAME NOTES:
- Junior forward Andrew Anderson has now scored in double-digits in six of the last seven games, including three 15+ performances.
- The Purple Knights outrebounded the Yellow Jackets by three, snapping the six-game streak the Yellow Jackets had of outrebounding their opponents.
- The Purple Knights are just the second team to hit 10 or more three pointers against the Yellow Jackets this season. The only other team to accomplish that feat was Adelphi, who hit 19 back on December 9.
