WILMINGTON, Delaware - The American International College volleyball team moved to 5-3 for the season, and 8-2 all-time in the Wildcat Invite with wins over Jefferson University (formerly Philadelphia University) and Holy Family on Saturday, September 9.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
GAME ONE:
- AIC opened the match on a 4-0 run before the Rams rallied at made it 4-3.
- Jefferson made it a close late, 22-19. After a point by the Rams, AIC won three straight to win the first set, 25-20.
- Unlike the first set, Jefferson came out hot scoring the first four-of-five points. The Yellow Jackets rallied back and took the lead, 16-14.
- A late three point swing to make it 22-17 in favor of AIC. AIC took the set 25-20.
- The third set went back and forth. AIC led 21-18 late and rallied to take the 25-20 set and the match 3-0.
GAME TWO:
- In the first set, AIC took an early 9-3 lead partially thanks to three kills by Potic. The Tigers fought back to make it 14-12 before the Yellow Jackets focused in and took the first set, 25-18.
- In what seems to be a trend with the Yellow Jackets, they came out in the second set and jumped to an early 10-4 lead. With the Tigers making a comeback, 22-20, Andrea Dillon started to turn things back around as the Yellow Jackets took the second set, 25-23.
- Holy Family was not going down without a fight. They went on a 3-0 to start the third set and took eight of the first 11 points. Down 9-4, AIC went on a 9-1 run to take the lead to 13-10.
- The Tigers answered with a 7-0 run to regain the lead, 17-13. The Tigers went on to take the set, 25-23.
- Just like the first and second set, AIC started the set with a 5-1 run. The Tigers battled back to make it 11-10 as they attempted to send the match into a fifth set. The Yellow Jackets ended up taking the set by a score of 25-22 and the match 3-1.
GAME NOTES:
- Rivas-Reyes moved into eighth place in all-time kills with 803. She is currently chasing Bailey Swan who has 805 career kills.
- Kopren moved past Ozoge Ozkan for sixth place in program history for assists.
- Rivera is now just 312 digs away from becoming the career leader in digs in program history.
