SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College field hockey team scored twice in the second half in a 7-2 setback to No. 10 Stonehill at Abdow Field on Tuesday, September 26.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Stonehill jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead, thanks to first-half goals by Kacie Smith, Taylor Ladue, and Carly Andersen.
- Smith struck twice more early in the second half for the hat trick to put the Skyhawks up 5-0.
- Georgia Barnes made a great move at the top of the circle and then dished to Devyn O'Connor, who stuffed home her second of the year at 56:02.
- Andersen and Alexandria Sylvia scored the final two goals of the game for Stonehill.
- Nichara Condo inserted a corner on the left side to Katie Lombardozzi, who blasted home her second of the year at 68:51.
COACH'S CORNER:
- "We played strong tonight and generated some good scoring opportunities. With a few minor adjustments I know that we will be successful in our upcoming games," head coach Rhonwen Peters said after the loss.
NOTES:
- With two more defensive saves tonight, Davis regained sole possession of the national lead in the category with six; she has 14 in her career, six away from the AIC record of 20 set by Katrina Heterbring '11, more than halfway to the NE10 record of 26 set by Briana Rubenstein of Adelphi from 2011-14 and just shy of halfway to the NCAA DII record of 29 set by Danielle Jones of Mercy from 2011-14.
