SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College football team earned its first win of the season, finishing victorious against Southern Connecticut State University by a final score of 14-6 on Friday, September 22 at Abdow Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AIC opened the scoring by completing a short drive with a five-yard rushing touchdown from Samad Davila inside the first seven minutes.
- SCSU got in the end zone for the first time with a five-yard rushing touchdown by Eli Parks with less than two minutes to go in the first quarter, but the PAT was blocked, keeping AIC ahead by one.
- AIC extended its lead with four minutes to play in the third when SCSU punter Mike McNally scuffed his punt and only sent it four yards, leading to a recovery and 34-yard touchdown return by AIC's Cornelius Waite.
- SCSU drove into AIC territory in the waning minutes, but a fourth-down interception by Lorenzo Melchiorre sealed the victory for the Yellow Jackets.
GAME NOTES:
- This is AIC's first win of the season.
- Waite's punt return was AIC's first special teams touchdown of the season.
