HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Yellow Jackets started off on a 3-0 run in the first set, but the Falcons took a 4-3 lead. After battling back and forth, the Yellow Jackets had a 22-17 lead, but just like earlier in the set, the Falcons went on a rally, 10-3, as they took the first game 27-25.
  • The Falcons jumped out to the early 9-5 lead in the second set. The Yellow Jackets only had four leads, all of which were by a single point. AIC came back to tie the game up at 24, but Bentley took the game 26-24.
  • Down 18-14 in the third, the Yellow Jackets needed to rally back to force a fourth game. AIC rallied off 12 of the next 16 points to avoid the sweep, 25-22.
  • Unlike most of the match, AIC took an early 7-4 lead before Bentley tied it up at eight. With their backs against the wall, AIC went off for 12 of the next 15 points to make it 21-12. The Falcons used a late push to try and end it, but it wasn't enough as AIC forced a deciding fifth set, 25-21.
  • Keeping the rally going, AIC used a 9-5 lead to force a Bentley timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Falcons went on a 7-1 run to make it 13-11 and force a Yellow Jacket timeout.
  • With time score at 14-13, Bentley called their last timeout. Coming out of the timeout, the Falcons' Milner sent one to the floor to end the match.

GAME NOTES:
  • Rivera is now just 172 digs away from becoming the career leader in digs in program history.
