HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Setters and Yellow Jackets played a mostly-quiet first half until the very end, when Jenna Sanossian tapped in a cross-netmouth pass with 1:28 to go in the frame.
- Both teams turned up the pressure in the second half, with five of AIC's six shot attempts and 18 of Pace's 27 coming in that frame; AIC also had four of the five corners the team took, while Pace had eight of the 11.
- At the very end, AIC drew a corner as time expired, but Chelsea Davis's heavy shot was blocked and cleared by the Setters defense to end the game.
- Alexis Torosian turned in another strong performance in goal, stopping 15 shots, including all 12 she faced in the second half.
COACH'S CORNER:
- "We played two strong halves against a tough opponent. The downfall came with a breakdown defensively for a short period of time. Going forward we need to avoid these lapses and create more of an offensive push and execute on our opportunities," said assistant coach Hayley Grimes after the game.
