MATCH NOTES:
  • Jimeno-Vicente has now won three of her first four collegiate singles matches.
  • On Saturday morning, the team volunteered with Moving On Up at Van Horn Park in Springfield, offering free tennis for local children. AIC coach Loni Hammons said that several families from the event were in attendance at Sunday's match, and also noted that she appreciated the community support.

COACH'S CORNER:
  • "Our No. 1 Doubles fought hard, but fell short," Hammons said. "Carleyah played some great points at No. 1 singles in the second-longest match of the day, holding serve when down 3-5 to push Merrimack's player to serve for the match. Carleyah was able to save numerous match points and really pressure Merrimack to hold for the win. Meri was on court in the longest match of the day, winning the first set 7-5, but dropping the second set 1-6. She fought hard and saved her energy to win the match tie break 10-6 as our only victory for the day."

NEXT UP:
  • On Tuesday, the team will travel to Colchester, Vermont, to take on Saint Michael's College in an NE10 matchup. The match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
