Tennis falls in close match with Saint Michael's

COLCHESTER, Vermont - The American International College tennis team played tough against Saint Michael's College, falling by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday, September 19.

COACH'S CORNER:
  • "We had great matches today," said AIC tennis coach Loni Hammons. "Our No. 1 doubles team came back from a 2-5 deficit to even things up on serve 6-7, where Carleyah held and saved them from match point with solid serving to bring it to 7-7. They were then able to break St. Michael's serve, where Meri served out the match to win 9-7. Then with confidence going into singles, Meri and Carleyah both played great singles, taking their matches in two sets."

NEXT UP:
  • Members of the team will travel to the ITA Regionals this upcoming weekend, beginning on Friday, in Flushing, New York.
