SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College field hockey team dropped a 2-0 decision to the Southern New Hampshire Penmen in both teams' Northeast-10 Conference opener.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams struggled to generate chances early on, with just five shots between the teams in the first 30 minutes of play.
- On a penalty corner, Alison Hildreth punched in a shot from the middle of the circle at 30:21 to take a 1-0 lead for the Penmen.
- The second half was dominated by the visitors, and Helene Servais fired a shot just inside the right post at 38:46 to put SNHU up 2-0 at 38:46.
- AIC was held to just three shot attempts in the second half.
GAME NOTES:
- The Yellow Jackets have not scored a second-half goal in any of their first six games despite taking more shots and drawing more corners in the second half of games.
- AIC leads the nation with six defensive saves.
