SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts- The American International College volleyball team took the court in second day of the AIC Yellow Jacket Invite. The Yellow Jackets went 1-1 on the day dropping a match to Edinboro before beating Southern New Hampshire.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
GAME ONE:
- The two teams battled back and forth in the first set. The Fighting Scots used a 4-1 run to take the 13-10 lead. They also used a late 5-0 run to take the first set 25-17.
- AIC started to rally early in the first set taking the 6-2 lead. Edinboro took their first lead of the set at 11-10 before taking the set 25-19.
- The Fighting Scots took an early 4-1 lead in the third set. AIC got their first lead of the set at 14-13, but couldn't keep the lead as the Fighting Scots took the third set 25-19.
GAME TWO:
- The Yellow Jackets and Penmen battled in the first set. The changing moment came when AIC was up 18-15. The Yellow Jackets went on a 7-1 run to take the first set 25-16.
- Trailing 8-7, the Yellow Jackets went on a quick four point run to take the 11-8 run in the second set. The Penmen then rallied back to take the 14-13 lead before jumping out to the 20-15 lead. Down 24-23, the Yellow Jackets forced the game to go past 25. The Penmen ended up taking the set 26-24.
- Down 8-5, AIC went on an 8-1 run and took the lead in the third set, 13-9.
- The Penmen chipped away at their deficit and took a 24-23 lead. They had three chances to win the third set, but the Yellow Jackets tied it at 26 before taking the game 28-26.
- SNHU started to run out of steam in the fourth set as AIC took the 8-1 lead. AIC never lost the lead as they took the set 25-16 and the match 3-1.
GAME NOTES:
- Rivas-Reyes moved into seventh place in all-time kills with 816. She is currently chasing Taila de Souza who has 857.
- Rivera is now just 224 digs away from becoming the career leader in digs in program history.
