Men's Lacrosse faces No. 1 Dolphins in NE10 Showdown

LAST TIME OUT: John Magliano had two goals, and Casey Samuelson and Jack Shaugnessy each scored their first collegiate tally, but the Yellow Jackets fell to tenth-ranked Mercy 18-5. The Mavericks scored the game's first five goals before AIC could get on the board, and also had a 9-0 run split between halves to defeat the Yellow Jackets. Matt Sayegh made 18 stops for his squad in goal.

LAST TIME THEY MET: The Dolphins scored the game's first ten goals to rout AIC 17-2 at Abdow Field on March 22, 2016. Kevin Papineau and Jack McIntyre had AIC's tallies in the game, while Magliano played net and made 11 saves in the defeat; AIC managed just five shots on goal against the eventual national title winners.

RUN THE ROAD, RUN THE GAUNTLET: Thanks to the pile of snow Springfield received just before the season started, AIC's two opening games against LIU Post and Mercy had to be played away from home. That leaves AIC playing three teams ranked in the top ten in the country, all away from home, to start the season; LIU Post was ranked seventh, Mercy tenth, and Le Moyne is atop the rankings.

THREE'S COMPANY: A trio of Yellow Jackets have a trio of points in the first two games of the year; Papineau and Magliano are tied for the team lead with three goals apiece, while Quinn Caesar has three assists to pace the roster.

OPEN UP: This will be the season opener for the Dolphins, who come into the game on a 27-game regular season winning streak dating back to a 9-5 win on March 7, 2015 against the then-number 11 Mercyhurst Lakers. Le Moyne's last regular season defeat was Feburary 28, 2015, when they fell 7-6 to then-number eight Lake Erie College. The Dolphins were a perfect 20-0 last season.

NEXT ON THE DOCKET: The Jackets finally open up their home slate when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, February 25. Opening face-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
