SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts The American International College Football team lost to national No. 10 Assumption College on senior day by a final score of 40-3 on Saturday, November 4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Assumption got on the board first with a 38-yard field goal from Cole Tracy with just under eleven minutes remaining in the first quarter. Assumption was gifted fantastic field position after a poor snap on AIC's punt attempt on their first drive, but the defense for the Yellow Jackets held strong, forcing the Greyhounds backwards one yard from the 21 to the 22 prior to the kick.
• AIC tied the game up on their ensuing drive when Jake Tondel hit a 39-yard field goal. AIC got in a field goal range after Kwame Jarvis found Ju'an Williams, who picked up decent yardage after the catch by breaking two tackles. There was a defensive facemask on the play, giving AIC a net gain of 38 yards on the play.
• Assumption retook the lead when Cody Williams linked up with Khaleed Exum-Strong for a two-yard touchdown pass.
• The Greyhounds extended their lead to 17-3 when Dylan Oxsen completed an 85-yard drive with a five-yard rushing touchdown.
• Assumption tacked on six more when Brendan Tobey connected with Ashton Grant for a 44-yard touchdown pass with just over two minutes remaining in the first half.
• Assumption scored on the opening drive of the second half, going 59 ards in nine plays and capping it off with a 26-yard field goal from Tracy.
• Tracy picked up his third field goal of the day by hitting a 39 yarder with just under seven minutes remaining in the third quarter to make the score 30-3.
• Tracy made it four-of-five for field goals on the day about a minute and a half into the fourth quarter when he sunk a 42 yarder.
• The Greyhounds finally finished a drive with a touchdown when Doug Santos finalized a 45-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run to close out the scoring.

GAME NOTES:

• This was the third straight game that Assumption did not give up a touchdown; it was also the first game this season that AIC did not score a touchdown.
• For the second straight week, the Yellow Jackets have not thrown an interception. The last time that happened was back in 2015, in the last two weeks against Pace and Southern Connecticut.
