SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College volleyball team earned a 3-0 victory on senior day over the Purple Knights of St. Michael's. The four seniors,
Mercy Rivera,
CJ Almaraz,
Andrea Dillon, and
Annie Boele were honored prior to the contest. With the win, the Yellow Jackets also clinched a spot in Northeast-10 Conference Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tied at 11 apiece in the first set, AIC produced four straight points, including two kills from Jana Potic, to put the lead at 15-11. St. Michael's fought their way back to down two points at 19-17, but the Yellow Jackets were able to hold on 25-22.
- Down 11-10 to the Purple Knights in the second set, the Yellow Jackets scored five straight points to have a 15-11 lead yet again. AIC was able to sustain the lead and earn a 25-16 victory in the second set.
- After giving up the first point to St. Michael's, AIC went on a 6-0 run. The Yellow Jackets' run included three straight kills from Boele. Up 23-18 late in the set, AIC closed out the match with a kill from Victoria Perini, followed by a kill from Potic.
GAME NOTES:
- Rivera became the career leader in digs in program history during Tuesday, October 17'smatch against Southern Connecticut State. Rivera's dig on the final play of the game proved to be the record-breaking dig.
- On Saturday, October 28 against Roberts Wesleyan, Rivera became the first player in program history to surpass the 2,000 digs club. She currently sits at 2,062 digs.
- Kopren now ranks third all-time in program history in assists. She currently has 2,599 career assists and is 1,240 behind Stephanie O'Brien, who has 3,839.
- Boele is now seventh all-time in career kills with 840.
