WORCESTER, Massachusetts - The American International College volleyball team clinched the #2 seed in next week's Northeast-10 Championship with a 3-0 win over the Greyhounds of Assumption.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Yellow Jackets had the 7-5 lead when they started to break the set open as they made it 11-5. The Greyhounds closed the AIC lead to just one, 15-14, before a 6-1 run by AIC. The Yellow Jackets took the set by a score of 25-21.
• AIC took a commanding 14-4 lead early in the second set en route to winning 25-17.
• Tied at 16 in the third, the Yellow Jackets used a four-point rally to take the 20-16 lead. Assumption rallied back and tied it at 21, looking to force the fourth set. The two teams battled in the closing part of the third, but the Yellow Jackets forced a Greyhound error and took the match 3-0.

GAME NOTES:

• Rivera became the career leader in digs in program history during Tuesday, October 17'smatch against Southern Connecticut State. Rivera's dig on the final play of the game proved to be the record-breaking dig.
• On Saturday, October 28 against Roberts Wesleyan, Rivera became the first player in program history to surpass the 2,000 digs club. She currently sits at 2,071 digs.
• Kopren now ranks third all-time in program history in assists. She currently has 2,636 career assists and is 1,203 behind Stephanie O'Brien, who has 3,839.
• Boele is now seventh all-time in career kills with 848.
