PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania The American International College men's basketball team won their first regular season game for the first time since the 2014-15 season with their win over Holy Family.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Tigers scored first on a lay-up to get the game started. A three by Kassim Kaba hit a three five minutes into the half and tied the game at 10.
Halfway through the first half, Andrew Anderson laid one in and took the 18-17 lead before tipping in a missed shot to put the Yellow Jackets up three.
With 1:49 left in the half, Tigers cut their deficit to two and the two teams headed into the locker room.
Kaba opened the second half with a three and the Yellow Jackets went up three.
With 15:28 showing on the clock, the Tigers took their first lead of the half 35-34.
The game started to swing with a jumper by Swan at the 13:49 mark and AIC tied the game at 38. Zekiah Owned then gave AIC the lead with a lay-up in the next possession.
Swan forced a turnover and sent it home on the break to make it a seven point game. A couple minutes later, Xion Golding hit a pair of free throws to give the Yellow Jacket the nine point lead, their largest of the game.
The Yellow Jacket hit their free throw in the last two minutes, 7-8, and took the game 71-67

GAME NOTES:
The Yellow Jackets won their first regular opener for the first time since the 2014-15 season. In 2014, AIC opened their season with a win over NYIT 84-61 in the LIU Post Tip-off Tournament.
The Yellow Jackets 47% shooting from the field is their highest since January 24th when the lost at Merrimack 78-77.
Tomorrow, the Yellow Jacket will look to move to 2-0 for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
