HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Up 2-1 in the first set, the Yellow Jackets went on a 6-0 run to go up 8-1 and force a quick Falcon timeout. A late 8-0 run by AIC made it 20-9 as they took the first set, 25-13.
- Tied at four in the second set, AIC found a four point rally partially in thanks from Potic who had two aces and an assist. The set got interesting with the score tied at 17 when the Falcons took four of the next five points to push them one tick over the 20 mark. AIC tied it at 21, but Bentley took the second set, 25-23.
- In the third set, the Falcons found themselves fighting from behind at 6-3. It didn't take long for them to respond with a 4-0 run as they took the 7-6 lead. The Falcons jumped to a 18-17 lead late in the set before they put on the afterburners and took the set 25-18.
- With their backs against the wall, the Yellow Jackets earned an early 10-4 lead before making it a 19-8 game. A late rally by the Falcons came just short as AIC forced the fifth set by a score of 25-17.
- The Yellow Jackets kept buzzing along in the fifth set, and before the Falcons blinked, AIC was up 7-1. Before anyone knew it, it was 15-6 and the Yellow Jackets had taken the match.
GAME NOTES:
- Rivera became the career leader in digs in program history during Tuesday night's loss to Southern Connecticut State. Rivera's dig on the final play of the game proved to be the record-breaking dig. Rivera now has 1,917 digs for her career.
