SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts - The American International College volleyball team wrapped up a two game home stand win a win over the reigning regular season champions Le Moyne Dolphins. Despite dropping the first set, the Yellow Jackets took the match 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first set was a battle as neither team more than a two-point lead in the first 21 points. With the scored knotted at 10, the Yellow Jackets 5-0 run to take the 15-10 lead. Le Moyne Chipped away to make it 23-21. The Yellow Jackets had set point 24-21, but the Dolphins rallied for four straight points to take the first set 26-24.
- AIC came out with a vengeance as they took five of the first six points. The Dolphins came back to make it a 10-9 game, but another AIC run made it 16-10. A late push by the Dolphins made it a one-point game, 23-22, but the Yellow Jackets took the next two points to tie the match at 1-1.
- Just like the second game, AIC jumped out early to an 8-2 lead before the Dolphins came back to make it 10-8. The key point came when the Yellow Jackets trailed 20-19. A kill by Poitc started a 6-0 rally that gave the Yellow Jackets the third set 25-20 and the 2-1 lead.
- An early 5-0 lead for AIC was negated when the Dolphins took the second five points to tie the match. With AIC leading 13-8, the Dolphins went on the longest point streak of the night, nine points, to take the 17-13 lead. There was still some fight in the Yellow Jackets as after a 5-0 run, they found themselves up 21-19.
- We were tied at 23 when the Dolphins took the one point lead. They would not be able to close out the set and force the fifth set as the Yellow Jackets took the fourth set 26-14.
GAME NOTES:
- Rivera became the career leader in digs in program history during Tuesday, October 17th the match against Southern Connecticut State. Rivera's dig on the final play of the game proved to be the record-breaking dig. Rivera now has 1,945 digs for her career.
- Potic has recorded double-digit kills in all but three games this year thus far. Potic has produced double-digit kills in 13 straight contests, including a season-high 23 kills against Bentley on September 21.
- Kopren now ranks fourth all-time in program history in assists, recently passing Dawn Richardson. She currently trails Katherine Dunford by 16 assists. At the rate she has posted this season, Kopren would reach this mark in two more sets.

- The Yellow Jackets will head to Amherst, New York for two matched on Saturday. October 28th. The first will be against Daemen at 3 p.m. with the second at 5 p.m. against Roberts Wesleyan.
