HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Neither team generated many chances in the first half, thanks to excellent defense; AIC had a 6-5 shot advantage at the half.
  • In the second, New Haven broke the deadlock as a pass from Samantha Roth to Kelly Quigley up the right side allowed Quigley to rip a shot into the upper right corner of the net at 60:35.
  • However, AIC would level the score 5:20 later, as on a corner, Miko Iida's shot deflected right to Kelly Koslosky for a rebound goal.
  • AIC outchanced New Haven in the overtime sessions, but neither team could find the net, and both sides settled for one point.
QUOTE HIVE:
  • "We got another strong defensive performance. We kept our shape and that allowed us to counter offensively, but once again missed opportunities haunted us in terms of finishing off a solid team performance," assistant coach Rob Libera said after the game.
  • Asked about her clutch tying goal, Koslosky said, "I knew we were down and I had to push forward to help the team. Fede [Frew] played a great ball in on the corner and everyone did well to keep it in the box. I was just in the right place at the right time to tap It in."
NEXT UP:
  • The Yellow Jackets continue their playoff push with a Thursday afternoon matchup at Stonehill on October 19 at 4 p.m.
