The American International College men's soccer team will travel to face Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Friday afternoon for a conference matchup. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets, who have a 4-5 record and 3-3 mark in conference play, are coming off a double-overtime 2-1 setback against Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday. Freshman Jake Durham notched a goal in that game, bringing his season total to a team-best 10 points with four goals and two assists. Sophomore Alejandro Alvarez had an assist in that game, pushing him to a tie for third-most points on the team.
The last time AIC faced Assumption, the two teams played to a scoreless draw at Abdow Field on October 2, 2015. Goalkeeper Sebastian Tamayo made six saves in that contest.
The Greyhounds, who have played to a 4-4 overall record and a 3-2 conference mark, are coming off a 5-1 victory over Stonehill College on Tuesday. This season, the Greyhounds are led by Jason Lages, who has 12 points on the year. Freshman goalkeeper Brian Murray has a goals-against average of 1.63 this season.
