The American International College men's soccer team will return home on Saturday to play Saint Michael's College at home on Ronald J. Abdow Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Yellow Jackets come off a long rest, last playing in a 3-2setback in overtime against Assumption College on September 30. Freshman Jake Durham scored his team-best fifth goal of the season in the contest.
Durham has had either a goal or an assist in each of his past six games, including goals in four of his past five games. Through 10 games so far this year, AIC has shown offensive improvement and has already scored more goals as a team - 18 - than the 2015 team, which had 17 goals in 17 games.
When AIC and Saint Michael's met in 2015, the Yellow Jackets fell 2-1 in overtime. In that contest, goalkeeper Sebastian Tamayo made five saves in the game.
The Purple Knights are 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the conference. They are also coming off a loss Wednesday against Le Moyne, with a final score of 3-2. Saint Michael's is led by Aaron DaCosta and Cole McIntire, who each have seven points.Goalkeepers Daniel du Feu and Gabriel Pineda have split time in net, combining for a .761 save percentage and 1.70 goals-against average.
