The American International College field hockey team pays a visit to Worcester to battle the Assumption Greyhounds in a non-conference contest.

LAST TIME OUT: The Yellow Jackets picked up their third straight overtime win with a 2-1 victory against the Bentley Falcons. Sophomore midfielder Anna King had the winning tally on a penalty corner in overtime, firing home the winning shot from the left side of the circle on a rebound of the initial shot taken by freshman back Chelsea Davis. Senior Taylor Ruscillo opened the scoring in the twenty-fourth minute, but Bentley struck back before halftime. AIC outshot the Falcons 7-3 in the game.

Assumption played even with Saint Anselm but fell 1-0 on a mid-second half goal by Allia Connolly. The Hounds outshot the Hawks 5-3 in the game and had a few strong opportunities to score, but were stymied by the Saint Anselm goalkeeper in the defeat.

LAST TIME THEY MET: Assumption scored three first half goals in a dominating 4-0 win in Worcester on October 13, 2015.The Greyhounds held AIC without so much as a shot in the first half as they scored in the tenth, twenty-second, and twenty-fifth minutes. They also had a penalty stroke goal in the second half to increase their lead to four. AIC generated some chances late, with junior midfielder Paige Montague putting two shots on target, but they could not break through. Sophomore Taylor Ross made 13 saves in the defeat.

WORKING OVERTIME: The Yellow Jackets have won five overtime games this season, the most in the history of the program. Each of their last three wins have come in the sudden death session. The 2010 and 2014 teams each held the previous record for OT wins with four, and both of those teams advanced to the Northeast-10 Semifinal.

BACK WHERE IT BEGAN: Senior Katie Lombardozzi spent her freshman year at Assumption, where she played in 18 contests and scored two goals for the Greyhounds during the 2013 season. One of those two goals was the game winning tally against the Yellow Jackets on October 23, 2013.

NEXT UP: AIC resumes their conference schedule with a Saturday matinee at Adelphi in Garden City, N.Y. The game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
