The American International College field hockey team will seek their eighth win of the year when they host the Bentley Falcons in a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at Abdow Field.

LAST TIME OUT:It took double overtime, but the Yellow Jacketsupended Southern New Hampshire, 1-0. Senior forward Emma Heroth had the winning goal on a penalty corner in a game where AIC had a 24-8 edge in shots, including a 16-4 shots-on-goal advantage. Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Ross made three saves and rookie back Chelsea Davis contributed a key defensive save in overtime.

Bentley likewise is coming off of a double overtime win, as theydefeated Pace 3-2in their most recent outing. The Falcons overcame 1-0 and 2-1 deficits in the contest, as they trailed 1-0 at the half but scored just two minutes into the second frame, only to find themselves trailing again barely over two minutes after the first equalizer. Under three minutes later, they again drew even, and ultimately prevailed on the first career goal by Rebecca Schroder. Goalkeeper Tori Ellis had six saves in the win, with the Falcons outshooting the Setters 21-15, including 13-10 on target.

LAST TIME THEY MET:AIC scored in the thirteenth minute to overcome an early 1-0 deficit, butultimately dropped a 3-1 decisionto the Falcons on September 29, 2015. Ainslee Penfield '16 scored the lone goal for AIC in the contest. Ross had six saves, while seniors Lizz Moulton and Katie Lombardozzi each contributed a defensive save in the defeat. AIC was outshot 15-6 in the match.

TWO MORE IN THE TROPHY CASE:Ross and Davis eachearned a weekly award from the Northeast-10, with Davis taking Defensive Player of the Week and Ross earning the Goalkeeper of the Week honors. Ross posted back-to-back shutouts, while Davis helped anchor the defense in the two wins; AIC allowed just seven shots on goal in nearly 200 minutes of play.

ACCESS DENIED:The Yellow Jackets rank top in the Northeast-10 andsecond in the nation as a teamwith a .923 SV%. The Falcons are not far behind, second in the conference and fifth nationally with a .861 SV%. As a team, AIC has allowed just three goals on 39 shots, while the Falcons have surrendered 11 on 79 shots.

NEXT UP:AIC continues their Northeast-10 Conference campaign on Thursday when they visit the Assumption Greyhounds in Worcester for a 7:00 p.m. start.
