The American International College women's soccer team heads to Albany for a showdown with arch-rival Saint Rose in a matinee matchup of two top teams in the Northeast-10.

LAST TIME OUT:Sophomore midfielder Federica Frew scored a brilliant goal in double overtime as the Yellow Jacketstook out Assumption with a 2-1 winin Springfield on Tuesday night. Assumption struck first just shy of the fifteen minute mark of the second half on a corner kick, but AIC came back quickly, with senior midfielder Stephanie Tweer firing the equalizer into the net before the half had reached twenty minutes. The Yellow Jackets controlled possession from there, not allowing another shot attempt, ultimately prevailing.

Saint Rose likewise upended their in-state rivals recently, topping the Le Moyne Dolphins 2-1on Tuesday in Syracuse. All of the scoring came in an eight-minute span midway through the first half, with rookie forward Nina Predanic opening the scoring in the twenty-first minute. Le Moyne answered with a goal in the twenty-ninth minute to level the scoring, but Predanic had a retort just twenty-four seconds later, striking the winning tally from five yards out into the lower left corner of the net. A well-played defensive second half kept the Golden Knights in the lead and earned them three standings points.

LAST TIME THEY MET:AIC suffered one of the most heartbreaking setbacks of the 2015 season, falling 1-0 on an own goalin the forty-fourth minute of their matchup on September 26, 2015 in Springfield at the MassMutual Soccer Field. Goalkeeper Rachel Edgin '16 stopped all nine of the shots on goal that Saint Rose players fired at her, but a ball that deflected off the head of an AIC defender snuck past her. The Jackets drew four corners and fired ten shots of their own in the second half but struggled to get much of their attack on target and could not find the equalizer.

CATCHING FIRE:Both Frew and Tweer have two game goal streaks for the Yellow Jackets, as they reversed roles in AIC's win over New Haven, with Frew knotting the game 1-1 and Tweer tallying the overtime winner against the Chargers. Meanwhile, Predanic has scored at least one point in all five games she has played for Saint Rose, assisting on a goal in the first four before her two goal performance at Le Moyne.

UNITED NATIONS:Both rosters have considerable international flair. Between the teams, ten countries will be represented, as players from Australia, Bermuda, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Slovenia, and Sweden will all dress for today's contest in addition to the many Americans on both squads.

NEXT UP:AIC takes on their foes from Central New York when the Le Moyne Dolphins visit Springfield on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
