The ninth-ranked American International College field hockey team looks to put lucky number seven in the win column as they visit Southern New Hampshire University for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup.

LAST TIME OUT:It took double overtime, but the Yellow Jackets broke throughto defeat Franklin Pierce 1-0on Tuesday as freshman midfielder Paris McGuckin made a brilliant play to elude a defender and connected a pass to senior forward Taylor Ruscillo, who tipped in her team-best third of the season at 88:41 to end the game. AIC had dominated the regulation, outshooting the Ravens 13-1 and allowing nothing on goal, but Franklin Pierce had three shots in the overtime on target, forcing sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Ross to make three difficult stops. She held the line, and the Yellow Jackets needed just over three minutes in the second extra session to find the cage.

Despite an 8-7 edge in shots on goal, Southern New Hampshirefell to their Queen City rivals, the Saint Anselm Hawks, 2-1. The Hawks opened the scoring late in the first half, but the Penmen found an equalizer in the sixty-second minute on an Erin Frost goal, but exactly two and a half minutes later, the Hawks broke through for the winning tally. Defender Allison Hildreth recorded two of SNHU's three defensive saves in the game.

LAST TIME THEY MET:Senior forward Emma Heroth and junior midfielder Paige Montague each posted a goal and an assist and junior forward Liv Magni added a goalas AIC routed the Penmen 5-1in Springfield on September 26, 2015. Montague set up the opening goal in the fourteenth minute that was scored by Ainslee Penfield '16, then tallied her strike in the twenty-first minute. SNHU drew to within 2-1 on a very late first half goal, but AIC broke the game open with three strikes in the first thirteen minutes of the second half, including Heroth's tally and her helper on a goal by Erica McLean '16. Magni capped the run with her marker. Ross had three saves in the win, while Erin Maroney '16 played the final seven minutes, making one stop in relief.

YOU GET NOTHING:Opposing forwards have found reaching the back of the net extraordinarily difficult, as the Yellow Jackets have conceded just three goals all season and their goalkeepers have a three-game shutout streak going. In fact, AIC's team save percentage of .914 and goals against average of 0.41 both rank first in the Northeast-10 and second in the nation, behind only Shippensburg. AIC has not allowed more than one goal against in any contest.

RUSCILLO LEADS THE WAY:AIC's senior forward has been on fire in the last four games, with a point streak that includes three goals and two assists. All three of her goals have been game-winning tallies, and her breakaway pass in the 1-0 overtime win at Mercy set up the game winner.

OVERTIME IS AIC'S TIME:The team has played three overtime games and emerged victorious in all three, tallying 1-0 wins against St. Thomas Aquinas, Mercy, and Franklin Pierce in the extra sessions. Their win against the Ravens came on the same night as the men's soccer team also downed FPU in double overtime.

NEXT UP:The Bentley Falcons pay a visit to Springfield on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. for a Northeast-10 showdown at Abdow Field.
