Men's soccer downs St. Anselm in conference play

MANCHESTER, New Hampshire - The American International College men's soccer team had a 3-1, come-from-behind victory against St. Anselm College on Saturday, September 17.

After falling into a 1-0 deficit, AIC stormed back with three unanswered goals to come away with its first conference win of the season.

The Hawks jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 54th minute. Less than four minutes later, junior Sam Jepson put in his own close-range rebound to tie things up at one goal apiece. The goal was Jepson's second of the season.

The Yellow Jackets took the lead in the 76th minute when sophomore Alejandro Alvarez notched his second goal of the season off a pass from junior Ousmane Sangary.

Freshman Jake Durham also scored his second goal of the season for insurance in the 79th minute, giving AIC a 3-1 lead with a header.

Senior goalkeeper Sebastian Tamayo made four saves in 90 minutes for the Yellow Jackets.

AIC returns to action on Wednesday, September 21 when it visits Rindge, New Hampshire, to take on Franklin Pierce University.
