NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.--The American International College men's lacrosse team suffered a setback at national number four and conference foe Merrimack today, falling 27-2 to the Warriors.
AIC drops to 0-2 on the campaign and 0-1 in the Northeast-10, while Merrimack improves to 2-0 and 1-0 in conference play.
The Yellow Jackets scored their first goal of the contest in the second quarter, with junior attacker Kevin Papineau (Westfield, Mass.) potting his second of the season at 9:24.
Toward the end of the fourth quarter, junior attacker John Magliano (Upton, Mass.) also scored his second of the season, tallying the final marker of the contest at 12:29.
In goal, rookie Tariq Qureshi (Elmont, N.Y.) faced a barrage, stopping 23 shots in the loss to fall to 0-2 on the season.
AIC returns to action Wednesday, March 2 when they head to Post University to face the Eagles in a non-conference matchup starting at 2:30 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn.
