Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Scratched by Panthers, 4-1

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. Senior Kyle Kazukynas (Enfield, Conn.) scored the lone goal for American International College in a 4-1 defeat to Adelphi in Northeast-10 men's soccer action this evening from Motamed Field.

AIC falls to 4-7-5 overall and 2-5-5 in the NE-10 while the Panthers improve to 10-3-3 on the year and 8-2-2 in conference play.

Adelphi broke a scoreless tie late in the first half as they potted a pair of goals in the final five minutes of the opening frame.

Toni Soler got the first goal as he received the ball in front of the net and was able to beat junior keeper Sebastian Tamayo (Stratford, Conn.) for the 1-0 advantage in the 41st minute. Then, just over two minutes later it was Caelan Hueber who took a thru ball and blasted it past the dive of Tamayo to the left of the goals for the 2-0 halftime edge.

AIC came out of the locker room poised for a comeback as just 50 ticks in it was Kazukynas receiving a ball from Cerquiera in front of the net for the 2-1 game.

But, that was all the Jackets could muster as Kenneth Indergard collected a pair of second half scores to account for the final score.

Tamayo stopped six shots before being lifted for freshman Nicholas Romei (Enfield, Con.) and the rookie made one save over the final 42:20 of game action. Sergio Reyes collected a pair of saves for the hosts.

The Panthers outshot the visitors 22-4 including 11-3 on target while also holding the 4-1 lead in corner kicks.

AIC closes out their season Friday as they head to Bentley for a 3 p.m. affair.
