SPRINGFIELD, Mass. The American International College men's soccer team rallied for a 2-2 draw with Le Moyne Saturday night in Northeast-10 action at Abdow Field.
With the tie AIC moved to 4-6-5 overall and 2-4-5 in NE-10 matches, while Le Moyne left Springfield 10-4-1 and 6-4-1 in conference matches.
Le Moyne struck for their second goal of the night at the 79:18 mark, made possible by a pretty Rossel Cacho move in front of the cage.
Down two goals, senior midfielder Kevin Milla (Lyndhurst, N.J.) wasted no time cutting the deficit in half, scoring his first of the season from over 20 yards out, the beneficiary of a loose ball off a Dolphin defender.
The Yellow Jackets, not shy of playing extra time, knotted it up in the 89th minute with a senior Jason Burnusuz (Westfield, Mass.) goal, his second of the year to force overtime.
While both teams had numerous chances in both overtimes, AIC goalie Sebastian Tamayo (Stratford, Conn.) and Dolphin keeper Ben Beaury made saves to keep their team alive. Tamayo ended with 12 saves as Le Moyne outshot AIC 27-16 and 14-6 on target.
AIC ends the season with two road games beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27 at Adelphi. Game time is slated to start at 7 p.m.
