MANSFIELD, Mass. American International College freshman Roxana Wenger (Giph-Oberfrick, Switzerland) was recognized on the Northeast-10 Volleyball honor roll announced by the league office Monday.
Wenger, a rookie setter, tallied 104 assists in two matches last week that saw AIC go 1-1 against the NE-10's top two teams. Her 53 assists in a five-set loss to league leading Adelphi set a new career high. Wenger ranks sixth in the NE-10 with 9.22 assists-per-set and eight with 0.38 services aces.
The week seven volleyball report marks the first time Wenger has been recognized by the conference this season. Classmate Diva Rivas-Reyes (Tucson, Ariz.) was the NE-10 Rookie of the Week in the sixth report, while junior Natalija Dordevic (Belgrade, Serbia) was the league's first Player of the Week in 2015.
