NEW HAVEN, Conn.-The Southern Connecticut State Owls had only one senior, but he had a huge night, as Greg Langston's 35 points led his team over American International College men's basketball, 99-71.
Langston scored the first 16 points for his team over the first 6:14 of the game, hitting a pair of threes and throwing down two dunks to set the tone of the contest early, as the Owls never trailed at any point in the game.
Senior guard
Janek Schmidkunz (Berlin, Germany) had a solid shooting night for AIC, going four-of-five from beyond the arc for 16 points, while junior guard
Marcus Porter (New Castle, Del.) rained down 28 points and added a career-high 16 rebounds to lead AIC. Senior guard
Spencer Braithwaite (Dorchester, Mass.) had 11 points to go with four assists and four rebounds, while sophomore forward
Oscar Assie (Ansonia, Conn.) had 10 rebounds and five points for AIC.
The Jackets finish the season at 9-18 and 6-13 in the Northeast-10. They advance to the postseason and will travel on Friday to face the Southern New Hampshire Penmen.
