ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets (3-1, 1-0 NE-10) opened the season 2-0 and added to it Saturday with 77-73, NE-10 opening win over Adelphi. The lone loss, a 70-69 non-conference loss to the University of Bridgeport last week, is the only blemish so far in a positive start for AIC. Senior forward Marcus Porter (New Castle, Del.) leads the team with 20.3 points, good for fifth in the league. The Jackets are putting up 76.8 points, while holding opponents to 66.8. Junior Trahmier Burrell (Albany, N.Y.) leads the team with 8.0 boards, while senior guard Bobby Harris dishes out 6.3 assists-per-game. American International is shooting over 46 percent from the floor and keeping opponents under 41 percent.

SCOUTING NEW HAVEN: The Chargers (1-1, 1-1 NE-10) opened with a conference road loss at Le Moyne, 62-44, before earning their first win over Pace, 74-56. Eric Anderson has controlled the boards, leading the league with 12.5 a game. The Chargers are led in scoring by Cyrus James, but Tommy Hunt (11.5) and Jemal Mosley (10.5) are formidable scoring options.

ALL-TIME SERIES: AIC leads the all-time series 25-23 over New Haven dating back to their first meeting in the 1973-74 season, but the Chargers have won the last four of the last five meetings including four straight.

2013-14 SERIES: The Chargers swept the 2013-14 series, winning 74-52 in Springfield before defeating AIC 68-57 in West Haven late in the season. Porter, 13.5 points, led AIC. In the second game he notched a team-high 19 points, shooting over 66 percent from the floor. Justin Exum net a game-high 21 in the New Haven home win.

THE ROAD AHEAD: AIC hosts Le Moyne in NE-10 action Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Butova Gymnasium. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
