Williams Scores Early, But AIC Field Hockey Falls To Bentley, 3-1

WALTHAM, Mass. The American International College field hockey team scored just 25 seconds into the game, but fell 3-1 to Bentley in a Northeast-10 contest Friday night.

With the loss the Yellow Jackets fell to 7-7 and 2-4 in the Northeast-10, while with the win the Falcons improve to 9-5 overall and even out at 3-3 in conference play.

Senior midfielder Courtney Williams (Westfield, Mass.) put AIC on the board off the opening face-off when she beat the keeper one-on-one.

Bentley responded 8:08 later when Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine) netted her first of the year off a rebound in front of the cage. Within four minutes Megan Talerman (Centerville, Mass.) found the back of the net for the eventual game-winner.

Talerman would add an insurance goal in the second half.

AIC launched more shots, 14-8. Falcon keeper Katie Kelley (Walpole, Mass.) made six saves, but the team bailed her out with two team saves.

Yellow Jacket senior goalie Kori Huffman (Brattleboro, Vt.) made two saves in the loss.

AIC returns to action Wednesday, October 23 when they travel to Worcester, Mass. to face Assumption in a NE-10 contest slated to start at 7 p.m.
