Men's Soccer Hosts New Haven Wednesday Night

ABOUT AIC: The American International College men's soccer team is 2-6-0 for the season and 2-2-0 in the NE-10 following a 1-0 double overtime setback at Merrimack. Senior Conor Doyle leads the team in scoring with two goals and four assists for eight points, while freshman Ed Sharman is second in scoring with two goals and two assists for six points. Junior Ike Ekwueme and freshman Frazer Cronin have two goals each. Junior Jason Ryan is 2-5-0 in goal with a 2.25 goals against average and a .679 save percentage, stopping 38 shots he has faced.

LAST TIME OUT: AIC dropped a 1-0 double overtime loss against Merrimack College on Sunday afternoon. Senior back Alejandro Fuchs scored the lone goal of the game 4:35 into the second overtime period after AIC was called for a foul in the box following a Merrimack corner kick. Ryan dove to his right but the shot went in the opposite direction to give the Warriors the golden goal win.

LAST TIME THEY MET: The Yellow Jackets won a 3-0 decision at New Haven September 27, 2011. Ekwueme scored two second half goals to lead AIC. Senior forward Thomas Denomme scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 34th-minute with the assist credited to senior back Barnaba Madol. Denomme setup Ekwueme's first goal of the game in the 79th-minute and Ekwueme capped buried his second shot of the game 10 minutes later off a feed from sophomore midfielder Miguel Rodriguez-Lapman.

ABOUT NEW HAVEN: The Chargers enter tonight's contest with an overall record of 3-4 and are 1-3 in the conference after recently dropping a 3-2 decision to No.12 UMass Lowell on Friday afternoon. Juior forward Gui Dos Santos is leading New Haven with three goals and one assist for seven points, closely followed by senior forward Joseph D'Antonio with three goals for six points. Sophomore forward Andres Torres is third on the team with two goals and one assist for five points. Senior goalkeeper Anastasios Petridis is 3-3 in net with 23 saves, an .852 save percentage and 0.67 goals against average.

NEXT UP: The Yellow Jackets will New Haven Wednesday for a 7 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
