DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The American International College field hockey team suffered a 5-1 non-conference loss against Limestone College Saturday afternoon, dropping its record to 1-8 for the season. The Saint improved to 4-2 with the win.
 
Sophomore Rachel Goromonzi (Harare, Zimbabwe) opened the scoring for Limestone just 33 seconds into the match and added her second goal of the contest 59 seconds into the second half. Junior Brittany Zimmerman (Willow Street, Pa.) scored the goal that proved to be the difference maker 4:27 into the contest.
 
Freshman 
Erica McLean (Branford, Conn.) scored the lone goal of the game for AIC when she put home a rebound off an initial shot from senior 
Lisa Duckles (Netcong, N.J.) in the 21st-minute.
 
Junior Rachel Sanders (Fayetteville, Pa.) had one first half save in the first half as she earned the decision in goal for the Saints, while junior 
Kori Huffman (Brattleboro, Vt.) had three stops in taking the loss for the Yellow Jackets.
 
Limestone outshot AIC 13-7 in the game, which included a 10-4 edge in the first half, while the Yellow Jackets had a 13-6 advantage in penalty corners.
 
AIC will next host a Northerast-10 contest against Franklin Pierce University Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
