Field Hockey Team Hosts Franklin Pierce Wednesday Afternoon

ABOUT AIC: The Yellow Jackets enter today's contest with an overall record of 1-8 and 0-1 in conference. AIC recently lost a 5-1 contest at Limestone College on Saturday afternoon. Senior midfielder Lisa Duckles is leading the Yellow Jackets with five goals for 10 points, closely followed by freshman midfielder Erica McLean with two goal and two assists for six points. Senior forward Kristen Angeletti (two goals) and sophomore forward Jenna Masionis (two goal) are tied for third with four points each. Senior forward Mackenzie Kewley is fourth on the team with one goal and one assist for three points. Junior goalkeeper Kori Huffman has tallied a total of 70 saves to go with a .6325 save percentage and a 6.00 goals against average.

LAST TIME OUT: AIC dropped a 5-1 decision to Limestone College on Saturday afternoon. McLean scored the lone goal of the game for AIC when she put home a rebound off an initial shot from Duckles in the 21st-minute. Huffman had three stops in taking the loss for the Yellow Jackets.

LAST TIME THEY MET: AIC dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Ravens last season. Franklin Pierce got on the board 11:18 into the match when junior midfielder Megan Bird's shot from the top of the circle hit off the inside of the left post and found its way into the back of the cage.The score remained 1-0 in favor of the Ravens until Masionis scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season with 3:05 left in regulation to tie the game and eventually send it to overtime. Four minutes into the extra frame junior midfielder Alyssa Juszcyk sent the ball towards the goal and senior forward Tia Levins was there to tip it home to win the game for the Franklin Pierce.

ABOUT FRANKLIN PIERCE: The Ravens enter today's contest with an overall record of 2-7 and 0-2 in the NE-10. Franklin Pierce recently dropping a 4-1 decision at Stonehill College on Monday afternoon. Freshman forward Sara Michaels is leading the Ravens with two goals and one assist for five points. Senior midfielder Megan Bird (one goal, one assist) and junior forward Chanelle Letarte (one goal, one assist) are tied for second with three points each. Freshman goalie Sarah Cote is 2-7-0 in net with a total of 74 saves, .685 save percentage and a 3.60 goals against average.

NEXT UP: The Yellow Jackets will travel to Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
