SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team dropped a 3-1 Northeast-10 contest to Bentley University on Saturday afternoon at Ronald J. Abdow field. The Yellow Jackets are now 2-11 overall and 1-4 in the conference, while the Falcons improved to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the NE-10.

Senior forward Beth Maquire (Medfield, Mass.) carried down the field and took a shot five yards out to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead at 39:38 in the second half. Sophomore forward Gina Lirange (Auburn, Mass.) took a shot from ten yards out off a corner to put Bentley three goals up at 47:43 in the second half.

Lisa Duckles (Netcong, N.J.) scored AIC's lone goal of the afternoon at the 67 minute mark in the contest off a shot from the top of the circle that was buried past senior goalkeeper Julia Powell (Southbury, Conn.).
Powell made four saves in the win, while Huffman stopped 9 in the loss.
Bentley outshot the Yellow Jackets 18-9, while AIC held a 9-4 advantage in penalty corners.
The Yellow Jackets will host Saint Anselm College on Wednesday afternoon for a 4 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
