SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team earned a 3-1 Northeast-10 victory over Saint Anselm College on Wednesday afternoon at Ronald J. Abdow. The Yellow Jackets improved to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in conference, while the Hawks move to 6-9 overall and 3-4 in the NE-10.

Erica McLean (Branford, Conn) put AIC on the board only 1:12 in the first half off a dish from sophomore forward
Jenna Masionis (Ashland, Mass.). Senior forward Kristina Katsikis (Hanover, Mass.) tied the contest at 3:06 for Saint Anselm.

Lisa Duckles (Netcong, N.J.) gave the Yellow Jackets the go ahead goal at 9:52 in the first half for a 2-1 lead. Senior forward
Kristen Angeletti scored the last AIC goal at 19:53 off a pass from McLean.
McLean had one goal and two assists for the afternoon.
Junior goalie
Kori Huffman (Brattleboro, Vt.) made seven saves in the win, while freshman goalie Shauna Whittemore (Bennington, N.H.) stopped 11 in the loss.
Saint Anselm outshot AIC 20-16 and held an 11-6 advantage in penalty corners.
The Yellow Jackets will travel to Merrimack College on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
