SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The American International College men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision in double overtime against UMass Lowell on Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 contest. The River Hawks improved to 2-4-0 overall and 2-2-0 in NE-10 with the win, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 1-4-1overall and 0-3-0 in conference play .

Darion Richeme (Danbury, Conn.) opened the scoring when he buried a cross from senior forward
Thomas Denomme (North Smithfield, R.I.) 22:28 into the contest, giving AIC and early 1-0 advantage.
AIC held the lead until a 1:57 left in the game when freshman midfielder Juan Moreira (Leominster, Mass.) tied the contest sending the match into overtime. That ended the scoring until senior midfielder Matheus Candido (Lowell, Mass.) netted the game-winner with 11 seconds left in double overtime to give the River Hawks the 2-1 victory.
Sophomore goalkeeper Connor Askins (Boston, Mass.) made four saves in net to earn the victory, while sophomore goalie
Jason Ryan (Peabody, Mass.) stopped 10 in the loss.
UMass Lowell outshot the Yellow Jackets 21-9 and held a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks.
AIC will travel to Merrimack College on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. Northeast-10 contest.
