SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The American International College field hockey team got goals from three different players as it posted a 3-0 non-conference victory at Slippery Rock University Friday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets evened their record at 1-1 for the season as first-year head coach Jennifer Angers picked up her first career victory.
AIC jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when junior forward/midfielder
Mackenzie Kewley (Rutland, Mass.) scored just 2:09 into the game and the score remained that way until 12 minutes into the second half when the Yellow Jackets scored twice in a span of three minutes. It was her second goal in as many days.

Kristen Angeletti (Wallingford, Conn.) scored her first goal of the season 11:57 into the second half and senior midfielder
Jessica Hall (Higganum, Conn.) buried a feed from sophomore forward
Hannah Farrelly (Jamestown, R.I.) 3:01 later for her first goal of the year.
Senior goalkeeper
Kim Steiner (Little Falls, N.Y.) registered nine saves in 64:48 to earn the win in goal for the Yellow Jackets, while freshman goalkeeper Becca Hardy () stopped one shot in 5:12 to preserve the shutout.
Freshman goalkeeper Alexandra Kirsch (Spotsylvania, Va.) played all 70 minutes for The Rock (0-1) in taking the loss.
Slippery Rock dominated play in the first half, outshooting AIC 12-4 with a 9-1 advantage in penalty corners. Shots were five a side in the second half while the Yellow Jackets had a 3-2 edge in penalty corners.
AIC will next travel to preseason No. 4 Stonehill College September 6 for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
