ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose outscored the American International College women's basketball team 31-41 in the first half to record a 84-76 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Knights improved to 17-5 for the season, while the Yellow Jackets dropped to 16-6 overall and 12-5 in conference play.

Junior Guard Rob Gutierrez (Brooklyn, NY) scored a game-high of 24 points with eight rebounds, one assist and one steal to lead Saint Rose, while junior forward Sheldon Griffin (Pittsburgh, PA) had (five rebounds, three assits and three steals) and classmate Brian Hanuschak (Cumberland, RI) (seven rebounds and two assists) for 11 points each.

Junior guard Isiah Wallace (Springfield, Mass.) scored 10 points for the Yellow Jackets with five rebounds, four assists and four steals, While senior guard Adrian Hynes-Guery (Montreal, Que.had a 19 point game with two rebounds, three assists and one steal.

The Yellow Jackets trailed 31-41 at the first half, while AIC outshot the Golden Knights 45-43 in the second half.

The Yellow Jackets shot 48.4 percent (31-64) from the floor and just 37.5 percent (6-16) from three, while Saint Rose shot 40 percent (25-61) from the field and 42.9 percent (6-14) from downtown.

AIC will travel to Syracuse, N.Y. for a Northeast-10 contest against Le Loyne College on Tuesday night February 8 for a 7:30 p.m. game.
