BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Fifth-ranked C.W. Post scored four unanswered goals, three of which came in the second half, to down the American International College men's soccer team 4-1 in a non-conference match Monday afternoon. The Pioneers improved to 14-1-1 for the season, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 5-9-3.

Senior forward Thomas Denomme (North Smithfield, R.I.) got AIC on the board 7:16 into the match when he redirected a thru ball from junior midfielder Conor Doyle (Douglas, Ile of Man) into the back of the net. Freshman forward Elvind Austboe (Stavanger, Norway) tied the match 7:14 later with the first of his two goals on the day.

The score remained tied at one until the 64th minute when junior forward Andreas Olson (Oppeid, Norway) put the Pioneers ahead for good. Austboe scored his second goal of the game in the 75th-minute and sophomore midfielder Jonathon Watkin (Doncaster, England) capped the scoring 1:31 later for the 4-1 final.

AIC held a narrow 7-6 advantage in shots in the first half, but C.W. Post held a 10-4 advantage in the second to finish with a 16-11 edge in the match. The Pioneers had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks in the first half, while the Yellow Jackets had the only three corners in the second.

Sophomore goalkeeper Marco Jorgensen (Copenhagen, Denmark) needed to make three saves in recording the win in net for C.W. Post, while senior goalkeeper Corey Cameron (Westfield, Mass.) had five stops in taking the loss for AIC.

The Yellow Jackets will close out the 2011 regular season Saturday with a 4 p.m. Northeast-10 match at No. 14 Southern New Hampshire University.
