Denomme's Goal Lifts Men's Soccer Over Saint Rose, 1-0



ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior forward Thomas Denomme (North Smithfield, R.I.) scored the lone goal of the match in the 70th-minute to give the American International College men's soccer team a 1-0 Northeast-10 victory at the College of Saint Rose Wednesday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-7-3 for the season and 4-5-2 in the Northeast-10, while the Golden Knights record fell to 1-14-0 overall and 0-11-0 in conference play.

Denomme scored his eighth goal of the year at 69:38 as he placed a pass from Jeremy Cuadra () into the back of the net from eight yards out. The assist was the second of the year for Cuadra.

Sophomore keeper Jason Ryan (Peabody, Mass.) made four saves to earn the win in net, while senior keeper Patrik Ohlsson (Sodertalje, Sweden) had eight stops in taking the loss.

AIC outshot Saint Rose 18-7 in the match, which included a 9-2 advantage in the first half, while the Golden Knights had a 9-4 edge in corner kicks.

The Yellow Jackets will next host a Northeast-10 match against Saint Anselm College Saturday at 2 p.m. at AIC Soccer Field, which is located within the AIC Track & Field Complex. AIC will honor the Class of 2012 in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the start of the match.
