SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College field hockey team recorded a 3-0 victory over Saint Michael's College on Saturday afternoon in a NE-10 conference contest. The Yellow Jackets improve to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in Conference play, while the Purple Knights fall to 2-9 overall and 1-2 in the NE-10.
 
Junior midfielder 
Lisa Duckles (Netcong, N.J.) put AIC on the board at 21:28 when she knocked the ball past senior goalie Sarah Healey (West Windsor, Vt.). Junior back 
Jenn Patten (Plaistow, N.H.) scored to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead with just 30 seconds left in the first half.
 
The Yellow Jackets did not look back after gaining their lead. Freshman forward 
Jenna Masionis (Ashland, Mass) added the last goal at 60:36 to give AIC a 3-0 victory over Saint Michael's
 
Senior goalkeeper 
Kim Steiner (Little Falls, N.Y.) made seven saves to earn the decision in the net for the Yellow Jackets, while Healey made three saves in the loss.
 
AIC held a slight 19-17 lead in shots, while the Purple Knights held an 11-7 advantage in penalty corners.
 
The Yellow Jackets will host Stonehill College on Tuesday afternoon for a 4 p.m. Northeast-10 contest at Ronald J. Abdow field.
