No. 4 Southern New Hampshire Tops Men's Soccer Team, 2-0

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American International College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to fourth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University Saturday night in a Northeast-10 contest at Ronald J. Abdow Field.

The Penmen improved to 6-0-0 for the season and 3-0-0 in the Norhteast-10, while the Yellow Jackets fell to 1-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference action.

Senior midfielder/back Paul D'Angelo (Gloucester, Mass.) opened the scoring in the 40th-minute and senior forward/midfielder Danny Hernandez (Salem, N.H.) added an insurance goal in the 69th-minute for the 2-0 final. Senior midfielder Michael Adam (Ludlow, Mass.) assisted on both scoring plays.

Junior keeper Joey Kapinos (Ludlow, Mass.) tallied six saves to earn the win and shutout in goal for SNHU, while junior keeper James Taber (Liverpool, N.Y.) had eight saves in taking the loss for AIC.

The Penmen outshot the Yellow Jackets 16-9 in the game, including a 7-2 advantage in the first half, and held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

AIC will next host C.W. Post Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in a non-conference contest at Ronald J. Abdow Field.
