AIC jumped out to a 2-0 lead on an RBI single down the right field line from Bassani and an RBI single to center from junior catcher #
Anthony Arrichiello# (Yonkers, N.Y.), but junior shortstop Ryan Powers (Beacon, N.Y.) answered for the Lions (9-11) with a two-run homer to left in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at two.
Saint Leo the plated three runs in the fifth on an error and RBI singles from Powers and senior left fielder Eugene Garnett (Tampa, Fla.) and the Yellow Jackets got one of those runs back on Bassani's solo shot to left center to lead off the top of the sixth to make it a 5-3 contest.
The Lions extended that lead to 7-3 on junior center fielder Ware Hart's (Atlanta, Ga.) RBI single to center and sophomore right fielder Dustin Brown's (Dade, Fla.) single to left in the bottom half of the sixth ad those runs proved to be the difference as AIC pushed runs across in the eighth and ninth innings for the 7-5 final.

Paul Maza# (Valencia, Venezuela) sent a 2-0 pitch over the center field fence in the eighth, the solo shot was his third homerun of the season, and sophomore center fielder #
Greg Caruso# (Stonypoint, N.Y.) delivered a two-out single that scored junior designated hitter #
Nicholas Devine# (Springfield, Mass.) from third. Maza then struck out swinging with runners on first and third to end the game.
Maza went 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Yellow Jackets, while Devine was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Powers did most of the damage for Saint Leo, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Sophomore Aaron Brandt (Dade, Fla.) earned the win after allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits with five strikeouts in seven innings. Junior #
Zach Bunszell# (Medford, Mass.) took the loss after allowing seven runs, six earned, on 10 hits with four Ks in five and two-thirds innings.
AIC will next face Bentley University Tuesday at Rollins College at 3 p.m.
