Winter Park, Fla. - Bentley University scored five runs in the final two innings to record a 6-3 victory over the American International College baseball team Tuesday night at Rollins College. Junior catcher #Anthony Arrichiell#o (Yonkers, N.Y.) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Yellow Jackets (1-4).

AIC got on the board in the bottom of the first after Arrichiello singled to right center field to score junior second baseman #Paul Maza# (Valencia, Venezuela) from second base and give the Yellow Jackets an early 1-0 lead. The Falcons (4-9) evened the score at one in the top of the fifth as sophomore left fielder Mark Lane (Tyngsboro, Mass.) tripled down the right field line to lead off the inning and then scored on senior center fielder Brett Damato's (Commack, N.Y.) sac-fly to center.

The score remained 1-1 until Bentley pushed four runs across in the top of the eighth, with most of the damage coming from junior right fielder James Roche's (Arlington, Mass.) three-run bomb to left, and added another run in the ninth to take a 6-1 lead.

AIC tried to rally in the ninth but were unable to come all the way back. Each of the first three batters reached base before junior third baseman #Dan Mooney# (Bennington, Vt.) singled to right to score Arrichiello and sophomore #Darien Brown# (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) walked after entering the game as a pinch hitter to score junior right fielder #Dillon Fontaine# (Amenia, N.Y.) with just one out in the inning. Junior center fielder #Greg Carusso# (Stonypoint, N.Y.) then popped out to shortstop and Maza struck out swinging to end the game.

Sophomore Blaine McLean (Medford, Mass.) scattered three hits in five and one-third innings of relief to earn the win for the Falcons, while freshman #Chris Goonan# (Chicopee, Mass.) took the loss after allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits with three walks and four strikeouts in seven and one-third innings.

Maza finished 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Yellow Jackets. Senior left fielder #Dan Bassani# (Naples, Fla.) and junior designated hitter #Nicholas Devine# (Springfield, Mass.) also went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Lane went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Falcons, while freshman first baseman Lamarre Rey (Lynn, Mass.) was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored.

AIC will look to get back in the win column when it faces Assumption College Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Florida.
